Accomplishments
APTIM is the key partner and sub-consultant working to support/mentor the prime firm on their first design/build contract for New York City Transit (NYCT). The APTIM team designed and constructed a new facility, administrative offices, support buildings, track work with associated DC power connections, four maintenance tracks with overhead cranes, wheel truing machine, and other associated miscellaneous and incidental work. The facility is being designed and constructed to sustain water and wind pressures and prevent water intrusion into the facility for Category 2 Hurricane (SLOSH) plus an additional 3-feet surge elevation.
