STRIVE Summer Internship Program
APTIM Welcomes Our 2024 Summer Interns
About the STRIVE Summer Internship Program
The STRIVE Summer Internship Program, APTIM’s program for undergraduate- and graduate-level interns, runs annually from May to August. Interns from across the US spend their summer gaining real-world experience through project work, goal setting, evaluations, meetings, and presentations. The interns learn about APTIM’s diverse portfolio as they join a variety of departments, and the program culminates with a group presentation to APTIM's leadership team at one of our office locations.
Led by our STRIVE coordinator, each intern also has a supervisor and a mentor to guide them through their projects. The group of interns meet virtually each week to discuss their work, career development, and attend biweekly meetings where an APTIM professional describes their role and perform project deep dives. The STRIVE Summer Internship Program was named with APTIM’s THRIVE Mentoring Program in mind, which promotes professional and personal development and growth through sustained relationships between mentors and mentees.
The STRIVE Summer Internship Program also allows APTIM’s safety culture and collaborative spirit shine, as our foundation of safety and collaboration are in focus throughout the program. The interns are encouraged to work together by being for each other, speaking straight, showing appreciation, and honoring commitments.
Hear From Our Hired Interns
"I was an environmental science intern with APTIM and worked on a pilot ESG metrics tracking program that will analyze energy and wastewater usage at several of their facilities. I have started a new role as an Environmental Engineer with the accomplished Environmental & Energy Solutions team at APTIM. This is a new chapter in my career and I'm excited to see what the future holds!" — Pranav Yathiraj, Environmental Engineer
"Not only was I thrilled to be hired as an intern for APTIM, but I was thrilled to work for them throughout the entire duration of the internship. I was brought into the electrical group and was able to make contributions to the projects they were assigned. I learned a lot while being an intern and I am excited to keep learning." — Aaron Thompson, Electrical Engineer
"I like the diversity of work that I get to do. It is all within proposals, but APTIM is such a large company that every proposal teaches me something new about our company’s capabilities. The graphics needs vary quite a bit depending on the type of work we are bidding on." — Alex Klein, Graphic Designer
