Regulatory Update: Hazardous Waste e-Manifest User Fees

Revised e-manifest user fees take effect on October 1, 2021. These new fees will be applicable from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2023. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) invoices the hazardous waste receiving facilities directly based on the format for which they provide the manifests to them. The US EPA does not directly charge the generators or transporting facilities. It is expected that the receiving facilities will pass these costs along to the generators.

These fees were finalized during the e-Manifest Advisory Board’s meeting in March 2021. If you are curious as to how the fees were calculated or would like to read any of the supporting documents or meeting minutes, you can download those documents for free at Regulations.gov.

If you have questions on how these fee changes might impact you or how you can reduce your fees through implementation of waste minimization strategies, please contact your APTIM representative.
