Environmental Protection Agency Releases ECHO Notify Web Tool
The new web tool allows users to receive compliance and enforcement updates.
On March 22, 2022, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the availability of a new web tool and subscription service called ECHO Notify. ECHO Notify is an extension of the existing Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO) website, which consolidates information from a variety of EPA sources, such as Integrated Compliance Information System and the RCRA Information System (RCRAInfo), into a singular website. ECHO allows users to research specific facilities and cases. It also features a graphical analysis function to review trends related to air, drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste.
ECHO Notify also includes the functionality for users to receive a weekly email of compliance and enforcement updates made to the ECHO system. Users can select from a list of criteria and notification options to tailor this tool to meet your needs to aid you in compliance management of your facilities or to understand current enforcement actions overall.
Notifications are via email and occur weekly on Sundays. You will get one email per regulatory category (i.e., CAA, RCRA), but only if there is activity in the criteria you have selected for that week. Keep in mind that “activity” in this case means the online records were updated during that week.
If tailored to your facilities, this can be a wonderful alert of inspections at various locations or for monitoring when on-line submittals are processed by regulators. In addition, APTIM’s team can also monitor regulatory activities and help you stay on top of regulator activity and ongoing requirements. APTIM can assist you in preparing your facilities for inspections and in keeping your documents up to date and easily accessible.
