Air Quality Compliance Program for a National Retailer
Since 2008, the APTIM team has supported all aspects of air quality compliance for a national retailer.
To support this confidential national retail client’s air quality compliance program, APTIM continues to:
- Prepare and submit over 150 air quality compliance reports each year (throughput reports, emissions inventories, surveys, questionnaires, etc.)
- Maintain over 200 air permits, registrations, and similar documents
- Pay over 200 annual invoices on behalf of the retailer related to air quality fees (permit fees, emissions fees, etc.)
- Track air permitting requirements in all 50 states, covering over 120 state, local, and regional air permitting authorities
- Prepare and submit refrigeration system reports required for over 300 retail locations in California and 70 locations in New Jersey
Project History
APTIM was originally retained nearly 20 years ago to supplement the retailer’s (at the time) small environmental compliance staff and fill a need for air quality compliance expertise. This required supporting compliance for all facility types (i.e., retail and non-retail locations) in all states. The types of air emissions sources supported for the client primarily include stationary emergency and non-emergency generators, portable generators, diesel fire pump engines, gasoline stations, boilers and other fuel burning equipment (heaters, rooftop units, bakery ovens, air handling units, etc.), and refrigeration systems.
While the client retains all operational responsibility for its air emissions sources, APTIM ensures that those emissions sources are properly permitted and that required agency submittals and fee payments related to those emissions sources are completed on-time. In addition to annual compliance reporting, permitting, and fee payment support, APTIM provides a comprehensive list of “as-needed” services to address any other air quality compliance need the client may face.
