APTIM Welcomes Bill Powers, Senior Director for Navy Programs

Welcome to APTIM, Bill!

APTIM welcomes Bill Powers as the Senior Director for Navy Programs. He is a professional engineer with over 35 years’ experience, managing the full range of environmental programs stateside and overseas for the US Navy and Marine Corps. He most recently worked at Jacobs as Navy Environmental Account Manager.

Prior to joining APTIM, Bill spent 20 years at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC), where he held numerous senior leadership positions, providing critical support, oversight, and direction. These positions include Environmental Business Line Manager and Compliance & Planning Branch Head for NAVFAC Southeast; Petroleum, Oil & Lubricants Facilities & Waste Management Lead for NAVFAC Atlantic; and Business Line Coordinator for Engineering Field Activity, Mediterranean.

Prior to NAVFAC, he supervised the Installation Restoration, Fuel Storage Tank Compliance, Range Management, and the Qualified Recycling programs for Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and supported the Charleston Navy base closure activities.

Bill received his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the US Merchant Marine Academy and a master’s in civil engineering from the University of South Carolina. He is a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina, held a Coast Guard Third Assistant Engineers License, and was a Commander in the Naval Reserve.
