This year, we took fervent action “in pursuit of better” for our clients, communities, and the environment.
With 2024 nearly in the books, we are closing out the year the same way we started it: with a reflection on our new tagline. This year, we took fervent action “in pursuit of better” for our clients, communities, and the environment. We remain committed to excellence and innovation; our people, with their expertise and drive; and our planet, in demand of our attention and advocacy. We are thankful to you for supporting APTIM’s intentions and amplifying our impacts for the betterment of our world.
As we look ahead to another year of possibility, we wanted to share our highlights from 2024 to inspire and instill confidence in our ability to make tangible change, together:
Prioritizing Safety
- Honored with 39 Perfect Record Awards, 8 Safety Leadership Awards, and 4 Million Hour Awards from the National Safety Council for our work across the US, Canada, Peru, and Guam
Reducing Emissions
- Commended as a net zero leader among the top 200 US federal government contractors
- Received validation by the Science Based Target initiative on our emissions reduction goals to reach net zero by 2040
- Signed The Climate Pledge, Amazon’s corporate commitment for emissions reduction
- Released our 2023 environmental, social, and governance reporting, including our 2023 Sustainability Report, ESG Disclosures, and Climate Transition Plan, which won two platinum Hermes Creative Awards and two MarCom Awards for creativity and design
- Hosted community clean-up events in partnership with our Green Team, including events for Earth Day, Earth Month, and Earth Overshoot Day
Empowering Leaders
- Partnered with three science-focused youth organizations to support the next generation of environmental and sustainability changemakers, scientists, professionals, and thought leaders
- Welcomed interns from across the country to our STRIVE Summer Internship Program to share their talent, knowledge, and passion to our team
- Launched APTIM Inclusion Networks—resource groups for teammates identifying as and supporting Black, LatinX, LGBTQ+, Women, and Youth—and celebrated National Diversity Week
- Spotlighted our subject matters through our Ask an Expert series on social media, providing space to make their voices heard

Environmental & Sustainability Solutions
Industry Leadership
- Ranked as the top environmental contractor for site assessment and compliance, as well as in the top 10 for environmental management, nuclear waste, hazardous waste, solid waste, and chemical and soil remediation by Engineering-News Record
- Earned four Business Achievement Awards from the Environmental Business Journal and Climate Change Business Journal for industry leadership, project merit, information technology, and social contribution
- Recognized by the US EPA for excellence in lab safety at our Test & Evaluation Facility
- Released our 2024 Sustainable Sport Index Benchmarking Report, which won a platinum MarCom Award
- Hosted our second annual Retail Leadership Summit with environmental, health, safety, and sustainability leaders from 16 national retailers
- Shared insights on remediation market trends, growth opportunities, and challenges in Environmental Business Journal’s 2024 Remediation & PFAS Market Report
- Published several journal articles on PFAS degradation and decomposition, supporting APTIM’s PFAS: Flask to Field™ initiative
- Presented on environmental remediation advancements at Battelle’s 2024 Chlorinated Conference, resilience planning for sports venues at Green Sports Alliance (GSA) Summit, and saving money with home energy efficiency at Habitat for Humanity’s Lone Star Summit
Project Milestones
- Launched the nation’s first Home Energy Rebates (HOMES) program, funded by the US Department of Energy, in Wisconsin
- Administered e-bike programs for Boston and Bentonville, utilizing em4all™ for equitable rebate distribution, with new contracts for Washington and Ava Community Energy
- Administered Colorado’s Vehicle Exchange program, reducing the cost of switching to electric vehicles
- Developed award-winning marketing and advertising campaigns to engage utilities, residents, industries, and government entities in Louisiana and Wisconsin
- Selected to lead program management, marketing, and outreach for the HOMES and Home Electrification and Application Rebate (HEAR) programs in North Carolina and Nevada
- Awarded a contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers to perform PFAS environmental remediation services at Yakima Training Center in Washington
Resilience & Infrastructure Solutions
Industry Leadership
- Achieved safety excellence in Peru, completing 10M+ hours with no recordables, medical treatments, restricted duty, or lost time injuries since 2017
- Recognized by the Canadian Safety Achievement Awards for preventing injuries over 365 days and throughout a turnaround event by our Syncrude and Suncor teams, respectively
- Received a community engagement award from the Pinellas County Government Board of County Commissioners for erosion prevention work after Hurricane Idalia
- Ranked as the number four oil and gas contractor for maintenance by Engineering-News Record
- Co-authored and published a report on critical minerals within US territorial waters with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management
Project Milestones
- Joined forces with Holtec International to safely dismantle and dispose of the Navy’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the former USS Enterprise
- Coordinated with the Florida Division of Emergency Management and Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness to quickly deploy and support residents and communities impacted by Hurricanes Helene, Milton, and Francine
- Initiated Phase 2 construction of the Houma Navigation Canal Lock Complex, supporting coastal resilience and flood protection
- Selected to expand APM Terminals’ Mobile, Alabama, container storage yard by up to 25 acres and add a container loading dock of up to 1,200 feet
