How long is the survey open?

The 2023 survey will be open June 5 - August 11, 2023.

Why should we participate?

This first-of-its-kind initiative is providing sports venues with a sustainability benchmark based on key performance indicators. Results help the industry understand what it does well and what opportunities exist for improving environmental and social impacts. Additionally, individual participants will receive a customized, confidential report specific to their performance against their peers, allowing them to celebrate where they excel and plan for opportunities to improve in the future.

Will my answers be public?

No, all answers will be reported anonymously and shared as part of a data set of all respondents. If your venue requires a non-disclosure agreement, contact our team at play@sustainablesportindex.com.

How much does it cost?

Participation is at no cost for venues and teams! All participating teams and venues receive a customized, confidential report comparing their performance to the rest of the respondents.

Who should participate?

We are seeking data from professional, minor league, and collegiate stadiums, arenas, and field sports facilities at this time.

What is the best way to take the survey?

Sign up on the website to participate. We will send you a custom link to the survey that allows you to save responses and return to the survey when you are ready to submit. To simplify the process, it is recommended that you download the questions in advance to collect your organization's data for easier input. You can do this by clicking on the printer icon in the upper right-hand corner of the survey.

Can I save the survey and come back?

Yes. Click on the "Save and Return Later" button at the bottom of the pages. This allows you to complete the survey in more than one sitting or come back to a question if you need to get the data elsewhere.

When you are ready to start again, simply go back to your welcome email and click on the Start the Survey: "Click Here" button. A message will pop up asking if you want to start where you left off or if you want to start over from the beginning.

Your data will be submitted only after you click on the "Submit" button.

Can I skip a question?

Yes, most questions are not required and you can skip questions. However, the more complete your responses are, the more accurate the overall benchmarking results and the more useful your customized results will be.

Is someone available to help walk me through the survey?

Yes, our team is available to walk through the survey, question by question. Email play@sustainablesportindex.com to make an appointment.

When can we expect to see the public benchmarking report?

The 2023 report will be released in early October. The 2022 and 2021 reports are available on our website.

When is the next survey launching?

The third Annual Sustainable Sport Index Benchmarking Survey opened to participating venues on June 5, 2023, and will collect data on the 2022 season.
