Replace Fuel Storage & Distribution System, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest Desert IPT
APTIM is the general contractor constructing the new fuel storage complex and distribution piping at Naval Air Station (NAS) in Lemoore, California. This project is being phased to ensure that flight operations at NAS Lemoore are not impacted and fueling operations are minimally impacted. As part of this scope, APTIM demolished six underground cut and cover jet petroleum Grade 5 (JP 5) bulk fuel storage tanks, five cut and cover operating tanks, and existing truck off-loading equipment. We are constructing three 35,000-barrel aboveground jet fuel storage tanks, one hydrant issue pumphouse, two double-sided truck offloading stations, three refueler truck loading stations, one refueler truck parking (2 acres), and two new piping loops from the new pumphouse. Ancillary work includes system commissioning, leak detection, product recovery system, piping, cathodic protection, fire protection, automatic tank gauging, utility connections, emergency generators, access roads, security fencing and lighting, LEED BD+C new construction operations building, excavation and disposal of contaminated soil, and asbestos and lead abatement.
