AFFF Removal and Replacement Project – USACE MEGA Contract
APTIM is currently executing projects to remove unacceptable C8 AFFF and replace it with new MilSpec C6 AFFF at bases on the US. West Coast as well as several facilities in the Pacific. The work is funded under the US Army Corps of Engineers Huntsville MEGA Contract. The sites include a mix of Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy facilities.
A total of twelve separate facilities are identified for draining unacceptable AFFF and replacement with MilSpec C6 AFFF. This work includes a mix of fixed facilities such as atmospheric polymer tanks, atmospheric fiberglass tanks and pressurized bladder tanks as well as fire trucks and crash fire vehicles.
