Mother Clara Hale Bus Depot Construction Management
The Mother Clara Hale Bus Depot is the MTA New York City Transit’s (NYCT) first LEED certified bus depot. The new Bus Depot is designed to save energy and reduce emissions. APTIM was the consultant construction manager for the construction of the Mother Clara Hale Bus Depot in Manhattan. APTIM’s pre-construction services included study of contract documents, policies and procedures, conducting a 10% complete constructability review
Throughout the construction phase, APTIM provided staff on-site to provide administrative, management, oversight, technical and other services to ensure the project is completed in accordance with budget, schedule, environmental and quality and safety objectives. APTIM oversaw the construction contractor's mobilization, startup and construction activities. APTIM’s led close-out activities, including inspecting completed work in areas that became ready for “Placed in Service” or “Substantial Completion.” The APTIM team has helped NYCT balance numerous “Quality of Life” issues by monitoring and mitigating noise, vibration, dust, erosion and traffic, while maintaining an aggressive construction schedule to meet interim and final NYCT milestones.
APTIM also is responsible for providing constructability reviews and hosting a partnering session among NYCT, the design build contractor, at various stages of the construction for supporting a successful project.
